Grilled Camembert with Cherries and Thyme
It doesn’t get easier than this! A wheel of creamy imported Camembert cheese takes a quick turn on the grill to a deliciously gooey char and is served topped with a juicy fresh summer cherry compote. Perfect for parties or an elegant shareable dessert!
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups pitted cherries
- 1 tsp fresh thyme
- 1 tsp sugar
- Pinch each salt and pepper
- 8 oz wheel Camembert cheese
- sliced baguette or crackers for serving
Instructions
- Combine cherries, thyme, sugar, salt, and pepper in a small saucepan over medium-high heat; cook for 5 minutes or until cherries release their juices. Cool completely.
- Preheat grill to medium-low. Coat grill and one side of cheese with cooking spray. Place cheese, coated side down, on grill rack; cook, covered, 5 minutes or until the rind charred and the center of the cheese is softened. Use tongs to carefully flip invert the wheel onto a serving plate grilled side up. Top with cherries and enjoy!
Notes
Tip: You can also use frozen cherries for this dish if you can’t find fresh.
