Easy Breakfast Poutine w/ Farmer's Cheese
A classic French Canadian dish gets a fun-for-brunch twist! If you haven’t tried poutine you’ll love this combination of crispy French fries topped with rich, buttery imported Farmer’s Cheese, a drizzle of savory gravy, plus crispy bacon and egg.
Ingredients
- 4 cups frozen French fries
- 2 slices bacon
- 2 eggs
- 1 3/4 cups imported Farmer’s Cheese diced
- 1/2 cup warmed brown gravy
- Optional scallions for garnish
Instructions
- Bake French Fries on a foil or parchment lined sheet pan according to package instructions, or until crispy and brown. While French fries bake, fry 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon in a large non-stick sauté pan. Place bacon on a paper towel lined plate and crumble when cool.
- When fries are finished cooking remove pan from oven and top fries with diced Farmer’s Cheese. Return the pan to the oven for 3-4 minutes to warm and lightly brown the cheese. Divide fries evenly between two serving dishes, drizzle with gravy, top with crumbled bacon, and one fried egg. Season to taste with salt and pepper and garnish with optional scallion.
Notes
Tips: While brown gravy is a traditional poutine topping, you can also use a drizzle of ketchup here instead if you prefer!
